چکیده

Introduction The bond strength of the resinmetal interface of a prosthesis is a key factor in determining the serviceability of that prosthesis. Separation of the resin from the metal due to a compromised or weak bond can lead to microleakage, discoloration and total separation of the resin from the metal.1,2 Resin-metal bonding systems as an addition to or replacement for conventional mechanical retentive elements aim at reducing the incidence of failure at the resin-metal interface. An optimum resin-metal bonding system would include a simple procedure producing maximum retention and high, consistent bond-strength values.3 Mechanical retentive elements such as latticework, mesh, beads and posts are incorporated into the design of cast frameworks to retain the acrylic resin matrix. Additional design elements such as external and internal finish lines and tissue relief are used to ensure a sufficient bulk of acrylic for strength. Bond strength of acrylic resin to cobalt-chromium alloy treated with the Silicoater MD and Kevloc systems.

BACKGROUND An optimum bond strength at the resin-metal interface of a prosthesis is essential to the success of that prosthesis. Silicoater MD and Kevloc are two systems used to increase bond strength at the resin-metal interface. This study investigated the effect that surface pretreatment and chemical shelf life had on the bond strength of silicoated samples and compared the shear bond streng...

Shear bond strength between autopolymerizing acrylic resin and Co-Cr alloy using different primers.

This study aimed to examine the shear bond strength between cobalt chromium alloy and autopolymerizing acrylic resin using experimental primers containing 5, 10, and 15 wt% of 4-methacryloxyethyl trimellitic anhydride or 1, 2, and 3 wt% of 3-methacryloxypropyl-trimethoxysilane comparison to 5 commercial primers (ML primers, Alloy primer, Metal/Zirconia primer, Monobond S, and Monobond plus). Effect of Primers on the Shear Bond Strength of Two Types of Acrylic Resin to Co-cr Partial Denture Alloy

The absence or poor chemical bonding of acrylic resin to Cobalt-Chromium metal frameworks, often introduces microleakage and bond failure at the interface. The aim of this study was to compare the shear bond strength of sandblasted cast and ingot cobaltchromium alloy to heat-cured and self-cured acrylic resins primed with four different metal primers. Fifty Co-Cr Ingot and fifty cast specimens ...

The Effect of Metal Primer on the Shear Bond Strength of Denture Base Resin to Base Metal Alloy after Electrolytic Etching and Laser Etching: An In Vitro Study

Background: The purpose of this study was to compare and evaluate the effects of metal primer on the shear bond strength of denture base resin to base metal alloy after electrolytic and laser etching. Materials and Methods: A total of 48 cobalt‐chromium (Co‐Cr) alloy specimens were fabricated. The specimens were divided into 6 groups of 8 specimens each. Group I: Sandblasting (control group). Shear Bond Strength of Porcelain Veneering to Nickel-Chromium, Chromium-Cobalt, Zirconia and Lithium Disilicate

Background and Aim: High chipping rates of the veneering porcelain in zirconia ce-ramic restorations have been reported in many clinical studies. However, information on the bonding behavior of veneering porcelain to zirconia and lithium disilicate frameworks is limited. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the bond-ing strength of porcelain veneering to zirconia, lithium disilicate, nicke...
